Background
The Manyara Regional Civil Society (MACSNET) is a coalition of civil
society Organisations (CSO’S) based in Manyara Region that is dedicated to
undertake various initiatives towards enhancing provision of quality community
services. Being registered in April 2007, the coalition has its main focus in capacity
building particularly in strategic leadership and Governance to CSO's, Public
leaders, Government agencies as well as community at large. Also MACSNET
facilitates policy advocacy and enhancement of human rights to poor and
vulnerable groups within the society. Following that MACSNET has entered into
partnership with different partners to support its initiatives which will
facilitate achievement of its mission. Hence, to ensure effective and timely
delivery of project activities, MACSNET would like to recruit a suitably
qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following positions.
Mwanzo Bora Nutrition Programme.
MACSNET is looking for an
enthusiastic, energetic and motivated young woman / man to fill the vacant position in its extension of Mwanzo
Bora Nutrition Program in Babati Town council. The candidates will be located in Babati town
and responsible in providing the
overall support to target beneficiaries
and their families on nutritional related behaviours in order to improve their
preparation, eating and breasting habits which will reduce stunting rates and
decrease anemia to lactating mothers. The duty station will be in Babati town.
Position
1: Nutrition officer
Minimum qualifications, experience and competencies.
- Bachelor degree
in Food science, Human Nutrition or nutritional related field of study
from any recognized university.
- Strong interpersonal,
communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work hard,
professionally and independently.
- Highly integrity and moral character
- Good knowledge of
projects financed by donors will be added advantage;
- Competent in basic
computer applications
Key Functions
- Support target beneficiaries in improving the nutrition
status for children, pregnant and
lactating women for reducing maternal anemia and childhood stunting.
- Working in collaboration
with District nutrition Technical to closely supervise Community Health
workers (CHWs) to reach project beneficiaries;
- Offering information and
counselling support to target beneficiaries and their families to improve
their nutrition behaviours;
- Support CHW and
communities in undertaking field demonstration days.
- Support beneficiaries in
adopting and scaling up home gardening, small livestock keeping and
locally food preservation.
- Prepare quality and
timely monthly, quarterly and annual
reports.
Position 2: Social worker
Minimum qualifications, experience and competencies.

Holder of bachelor degree in
community development, sociology or equivalent.
·
Holders of Diploma in community
development and relevant experience in community work will also be considered.
·
Should have an experience in
working with civil society organizations with a strong knowledge and skills in
community mobilization and sensitization.

Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational
skills
- Ability to work hard, professionally and independently.
- Highly integrity and moral character
- Competent in basic computer applications
Key Responsibilities
·
Design and develop plans and
strategies to address the nutritional related behaviours.
·
Work closely with the District
Nutrition officer, CDO and extension officers in community mobilization and sensitization.
·
Shall be responsible in
identifying key advocacy issues in projects and programmes designed to reflect
the organization’s mission and objectives.
·
Shall be responsible in
preparation, organize and conduct all the community trainings and meetings in all matters related to
nutrition.
·
Participates in mobilizing and
facilitating community groups to establish and manage integrated demonstration
plots.
·
Work with extension workers to
technically mobilize community and beneficiary households in adopting and out
scaling home gardens, small livestock keeping and locally food
preservation.
Improved quality, capacity and sustainability of
districts paralegal services
Position 3: Legal officer
MACSNET
in partnership with Legal Aid Facility (LSF) is implementing a Legal Aid
program with the aim of increasing access to justice through increasing
accessibility to legal services, in particular for women. The program also aims
at promoting legally empowered community, creating conducive environment for
legal aid and enhancing institutional sustainability of legal aid. To achieve that MACSNET is
implementing a project titled "improved
quality, capacity and sustainability of Districts paralegal services".
The project is expected be implemented in all districts in Manyara region.
In order to
achieve the expected project results, MACSNET is intending to recruit a skilled,
experienced, committed and competent project Legal officer with demonstrated
expertise in legal aid and human rights to work with its project in the program
area. The candidate will be based in MACSNET head office located in Babati town
but will be responsible to provide technical services in all districts in the
region.
Minimum qualifications, experience and competencies.

Holder of bachelor degree law
or equivalent.
·
Holders of Diploma in law may
be considered but must have an experience of working in the similar
intervention for not more than 3 years.
·
Should have an experience in
working with civil society organizations with a strong knowledge and skills in
legal aid and human rights.
- Ability to work hard, professionally and independently.
- Highly developed integrity and moral character
- Good writing, strong interpersonal and communication
skills
- Competent in basic computer applications
- A candidate with a combination of legal aid, human
rights and organizational capacity development will be given
priority.
Key
responsibilities
- To support paralegals to conduct community sensitization on legal aid and human rights.
- To support paralegal organizations in each district council to establish and/or re-establish the Organizational and leadership structures and legal registration.
- To support paralegal organizations in the development of operational policies and guidelines.
- To engage in the training of paralegals, local and traditional leaders.
- To support paralegal in providing legal aid to the target beneficiaries.
- To act as a link between MACSNET, district councils and the communities.
- To support paralegal organizations in its
sustainability interventions.
